There were approximately 600 of these medals awarded. This version was engraved by Hubert Ponscarme. This version, awarded from 1894-1904, has an obverse inscription that translates to “French Republic,” and a reverse inscription that translates to “Honour and Devotion, Administration of Forests.”

History

The Medal of Honour for Water and Forests is awarded to personnel of the Administration of Water and Forests for at least 20 years of meritorious service, or for a courageous act performed during field service.
