The Commemorative Medal for the Indochina Campaign was created on August 1, 1953.
It was awarded to French military personnel who served for at least 90 days in the Indochina Campaign between August 16, 1945 and August 11, 1954. The 90 day requirement was waived for the wounded. The Medal was also awarded to civil servants of the merchant marine and civil aviation personnel who served for at least 90 days by transporting troops or supplies to the region between August 16, 1945 and August 11, 1954.
It is uncertain when the Medal ceased to be awarded.
The obverse inscription translates to “Indochina, French Republic,” and the reverse inscription translates to “French Expeditionary Corps, Far East.”
