The Medal of Honour from the Ministry of Labour and Social Providence was created on August 9, 1913, but was later absorbed into the Medal of Honour for Labour on May 15, 1948.
It was awarded for service in provident establishments, savings banks, low-cost housing, and numerous other settings of social service.
It was originally created with a single grade, but another was introduced less than a year later. The Silver Medal was awarded for 30 years of service, and the Gilt Medal was awarded for 50 years of service.
The obverse inscription translates to “French Republic,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Honour, Labour, Ministry of Labour and Social Providence.”
