History


The Fire Service Medal was established by Duke Friedrich I and it was conferred upon voluntary firefighters who rendered 25 years of uninterrupted service with a fire brigade. Professional firefighters and individuals who held other positions within the firefighting services were also eligible to receive the Medal.
