History

The Jubilee Medal was established by Grand Duke Friedrich I on the 50th anniversary of his rule, April 25, 1902. It was conferred upon individuals who had distinguished themselves while working in public service. The Jubilee Medal was not returnable and was worn after all other Baden decorations and medals, but before all non-Baden awards. Only members of royalty who participated in the Jubilee received the Gold Medal. The medal was awarded in gold and in bronze.
