Physical Description


A circular medal constructed of bronze. The obverse bears the leftward-facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold, circumscribed by name and title. The reverse with an inscription of “DER PROTEKTOR DEM LANDWIRTSCHAFL. VEREIN IN BAYERN, ZUR HUNDERT-JAHRFEIER 1810-1910” (“THE PATRON OF THE AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION IN BAVARIA, TO ITS HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY 1810-1910”). On a loop for suspension.

History


The Medal was established by Prince Regent Luitpold on September 16, 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Bavarian Agricultural Association. The medal is in three classes: gold, silver and bronze. It was awarded on the anniversary day.

The Bronze Medal was awarded to members of the Price Commission, professors of agricultural departments and individuals who rendered meritorious service to the Agricultural Association.
