Physical Description


A rectangular bar constructed of iron and silver. The bar is pebbled with a smooth border and bears the inscription "L. II.". On a light blue and white striped ribbon bar.

History


The Military Long Service Bar was established by King Ludwig II on January 21, 1876. The bar was awarded in three classes to Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers. The Military Long Service Bar was to demonstrate the King’s high esteem for individuals who faithfully served for a long period of time.

The I Class Clasp was awarded for 21 years of service. The II Class Clasp was awarded for 15 years of service. The III Class Clasp was awarded for 9 years of service.
