History

The Campaign Cross, 1849 was founded by Prince Adolph Georg in recognition of the soldiers who participated in the Campaign of 1849, which was fought between the German province of Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark.

Lippe-Schaumburg sent only one company to participate in the campaign and as such, there was only a small number of eligible candidates to receive this cross.
