History

The Long Service Crosses were established by Prince Georg Wilhelm in 1850, and were conferred upon Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers who rendered long and faithful military service. When calculating the number of years served, war years counted for double.

The Gold Cross for 25 Years was awarded to Officers.

The Cross was awarded until 1867 and ended when Lippe-Schaumburg signed a military convention with Prussia.
