History

The Long Service Crosses were established by Prince Georg Wilhelm in 1850 and were conferred upon officers who rendered long and faithful military service. When calculating the number of years served, war years counted for double.

The crosses were awarded until 1867 and were discontinued when Lippe-Schaumburg signed a military convention with Prussia.
