History

The Long Service Cross for Female Servants was instituted by Grand Duchess Elisabeth and was conferred upon female servants and labourers who rendered 25 years of years of service with the same family or employer.

The Silver Cross for 25 could be retroactively awarded.

On May 2, 1918, the award statutes were changed and it was determined that individuals who were not citizens of Mecklenburg-Strelitz could also receive the cross.
