History

The Medal for the 100th Anniversary of the 1st Nassau Infantry Regiment features the conjoined left-facing busts of Duke Frederick Augustus of Nassau and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia on the obverse, inscribed "FRIEDRICH AUGUST HERZOG z. NASSAU" at the left and "KAISER WILHELM II." at the right, inscribed "14 MÄRZ 1809-1909" and flanked by the coat-of-arms of both states below.

The reverse features a monument bearing the inscription "LA BELLE ALLIANCE". The monument is surmounted by a lion with its front right paw resting upon a cannonball, a wreath and a branch of oak leaves at its base, surrounded by the inscription "ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DAS 100 JÄHRIGE REGT. JUBILÄUM DES I. NASS. JNF. REGTS. No87.".
