(Johanniter-Orden, Kreuz der Rechtsritter in Gold). A Gold Maltese cross with white enameled arms, with Gold eagles between the arms of the cross; a partially hollow Gold crown fastened to the top arms of the cross, with a sun ray at the top of the crown, with a double loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; marked “Z.” on the bottom; measuring 44.82 mm (w) x 72.72 mm (h); weighing 18.8 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
This Order was reconstituted by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and it was conferred in two classes, the Grand Master Cross and the Knight Cross, from 1812 to 1852.
The Order was conferred at the discretion of the King.
The Order was renewed in 1852, and featured the grades of Protector Cross, Knight Master Cross, Commander Cross, Knight of Justice Cross, and Knight of Honour Cross.
