Physical Description

A scaled George’s cross with curved arms and smooth narrow borders, constructed of silver and gold. The cross is in silver, the centre medallion is smooth and in gold, with a smooth border. The obverse features the Roman numeral ‘XXV’, whereas the reverse features the crowned monogram ‘E’. On a loop for suspension, on a green ribbon with silver side stripes.

History

The Military Long Service Decoration was originally founded by Duke Ernst II to reward the long and faithful service of officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted men in the military.

The Cross for 25 Years was awarded to officers.
