History

The Military Honour Medal was conferred upon Westphalian military personnel who rendered service during the Napoleonic Campaigns.

The Silver Medals were awarded to non-commissioned officers and enlisted ranks.

The Type III medals were unofficial. The medals were produced in an oval shape and feature an armoured breastplate flanked by two cannons on the obverse. Beside each cannon, there is a pile of six or seven cannonballs. The officially produced Type II medals feature only six cannon balls. The reverse of the medal features the initials ‘HN’ surmounted by a crown. The initials and crown are surrounded by a laurel wreath.
