History
The Military Honour Medal was conferred upon Westphalian military personnel who rendered service during the Napoleonic Campaigns.
The Silver Medals were awarded to non-commissioned officers and enlisted ranks. Due to the high casualty rate, the Silver Medals are extremely rare and are almost never found in private collections.
The Type II medals were produced in an oval shape. The obverse of the medal features an armoured breastplate flanked by two cannons. Beside each cannon, there is a pile of six cannonballs. The reverse of the medal features the initials ‘HN’ surmounted by a crown. The initials and crown are surrounded by a laurel wreath.
