History

Cuff titles were similar to armbands, except often stating a more specific and specialised purpose of the wearer. They were significantly smaller than armbands, didn’t necessarily go all the way around the arm, and were worn on the lower part of the left sleeve.

Sports-related cuff titles for members of the HJ were introduced on November 6, 1936. More than one at a time could be worn if awarded.

The HJ-Geländesportwart (HJ Field Exercise Warden) cuff title is black with yellow Gothic letters, with a yellow top and bottom stripe.

The HJ-Schießwart (HJ Marksmanship Warden) cuff title is black with green Gothic letters, with a green top and bottom stripe.

The HJ-Schiwart (HJ Ski Attendant) cuff title is black with white Gothic letters, with a white top and bottom stripe.

The HJ-Sportwart (HJ Sports Attendant) cuff title is black with red Gothic letters, with a red top and bottom stripe. It was introduced on December 4, 1936.
