Members of the Waffen-SS did not wear the SS pattern swastika armband worn by other SS sub-organisations. The armbands used denoted civilian auxiliaries or temporary, special assignments.
The 'Im Dienste der Waffen-SS' (in the service of the Waffen-SS) armband was worn on the upper left sleeve by civilians and auxiliary personnel in the service of the Waffen-SS. It is white with black inscription.
