History

Service Identification Badges were similar in design and wear to Trade Insignia. They denoted the wearer's former or current affiliation with another organisation.

The badges were in the shape of a black cloth diamond with silver-grey thread for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and Enlisted Men (EMs), and with aluminum wire for Officers. They were worn on the lower left sleeve.

The Foreign Organisation badge was worn by those serving in the Auslands-Organisation (organisation for foreign affairs). The badge features the letters 'AO'. Uniquely, it has been observed with silver-coloured piping. No additional information pertaining to this aspect is available at this time.
