This Medal was conferred upon Hungarians who had rendered meritorious work within the field of finance, and whose outstanding achievements were deserving of recognition.
The Type II medals feature the image of crossed guns within the flag of Hungary at the bottom of the obverse medallion. There are two main version of the Type II medals.
The medals awarded from 1953 to 1956 feature the Hungarian People's Republic emblem from 1949-1956 on the obverse medallion.
The medals awarded from 1957 to 1966 feature the Hungarian People's Republic emblem from 1957-1989 on the obverse medallion.
