History


This Medal was instituted by Miklos Horthy to recognize the Hungarians who had rendered service during World War I in combat and non-combat roles on the front-lines and the home front.

The Silver Medal (for combat) is worn on a ribbon with white and red exterior stripes and alternating horizontal white and green stripes in the centre, the obverse features a helmet, and the reverse features crossed swords behind the shield.

The Silver Medal (for non-combat) is worn on a white ribbon with white, red, and green stripes along the edges.
