Liechtenstein, Principality. A Long Service Bar for Ten Years' Service, Type I (1847-1858)
(Dienstauszeichnungen). Instituted in 1847. In silver, measuring 43.5 mm (w) x 14.7 mm (h), original ribbon wrapped around a 40 mm (w) x 34.5 mm (h) metal frame with horizontal pinback, extremely fine.
The Award was established on August 17th, 1847, and was conferred upon Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers in Liechtenstein’s army to commemorate long service.
The Award was discontinued in 1868, when compulsory military service was abolished.
The Type I decorations feature an "A" on the obverse, the initial of the decoration’s founder Alois II.
