Liechtenstein, Principality. A Long Service Bar for Twenty Years' Service, c.1850
(Dienstauszeichnungen). Instituted in 1847. Type I (1847-1858). In silver gilt, measuring 43 mm (w) x 14.5 mm (h), mounted to a 40.2 mm (w) x 33.5 mm (h) metal frame wrapped with its original ribbon, horizontal pinback, very light contact, near extremely fine.
The Award was established on August 17th, 1847, and was conferred upon Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers in Liechtenstein’s army to commemorate long service.
The Award was discontinued in 1868, when compulsory military service was abolished.
The Type I decorations feature an "A" on the obverse, the initial of the decoration’s founder Alois II.
