This is a rare item. It appears that the II Class Medal was never awarded, but more research should be conducted for confirmation. Only one example has been encountered in the research materials.

History

The Order of the Resistance (1940-1944) was established by Grand Duchess Charlotte. It was conferred upon Luxembourgian civilians and foreigners in recognition of distinguished service to the state during the German occupation in the Second World War from 1940-1944. It was also conferred posthumously.

The I Class Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "I Will Maintain.”
