History

The Commemorative Medal for the Honour Guard was issued in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of Queen Wilhelmina's ascension to the Dutch throne on the occasion of festivities on September 9, 1933.

It was awarded to the living members of the Honour Guard who had served at the inauguration ceremony in 1898. It was awarded to all 36 members of the Honour Guard, and an additional medal was stuck for the collection of the Amsterdam Historical Museum.

The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Queen Wilhelmina," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Honorary Guard Cadets & Midshipmen.”
