The European Security and Defence Policy Service Medal was established on January 1, 2003. The Siler Medal is awarded to police and security personnel serving on European Union led crisis management operations.

The following clasps are authorized for award with the Medal:

An Arabic numeral worn on the ribbon is awarded to denote more than 1 tour of duty.

It is uncertain if the Medal is issued without a clasp and if all clasps are authorized for wear for British recipients.
