The Medal was awarded in Gold, Silver, and Lead during the Coronation ceremony. Gold Medals were presented to members of the royal family, Silver Medals to members of parliament, judges, and esteemed peers of the royal household, and Lead Medals to commoners.

The Medal features a reverse Latin inscription that translates to "Let Not the Whole be Consumed."
