History


The Allied Subject's Medal was established in 1922 following the end of the First World War. It was awarded by the Foreign Office to Allied citizens in recognition of contributions made to British troops, especially those who aided in the escape of British prisoners of war.

Medals were issued unnamed. There may be additional versions that differ in size.
