History

The Colonial Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was established on May 31, 1895. The Silver Medal was awarded to Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and other ranks of Indian and Colonial Forces for meritorious and long service and good conduct. The Medal was replaced by the Permanent Forces of the Empire Beyond the Sea Award in 1909.

The Medal features a reverse inscription of the colony where the recipient served.
