The Hong Kong Royal Naval Dockyard Police Long Service Medal was instituted in 1920 and awarded to members of the Royal Naval Dockyard Police Long Service Medal for 15 years of service. Despite the Dockyard closing in 1961, members of the Hong Kong Royal Naval Dockyard Police who transferred to other police divisions were still eligible for the award until 1973. It is estimated that 280 Medals were issued.
There are multiple versions of the Medal which vary by the obverse effigy of the ruling monarch and by composition. The Medal was issued in both silver and gilt.
