As early as 1934, “Litzen” (bars) were worn on the lower left sleeve of sports uniforms to indicate rank.

Obergebietsführer wore one gold-coloured “V” over three horizontal gold-coloured bars. So did Gauverbandsführerinnen of the BDM.
