History

The Achievement Badge of the Governmental Troops of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was instituted around July 1944 and it was conferred upon members of the “Regierungstruppe” who rendered meritorious service to the German Army. The “Regierungstruppe” was a Czech police forced raised in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The force included three Inspectorates, each with four battalions. The volunteers in the force were primarily former Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Czech Army. By Spring 1944, much of the force was serving in Northern Italy, with only one battalion remaining to guard Prague, and by the end of 1944, the force was disbanded.

The Badge was conferred in three grades, bronze, silver and gold.

The badge is die struck, and on the reverse, there is a small catch and a hinge with a pin. There are also versions that are die struck with a solid back and feature a German style catch and hinge.
