(Dienstnadel für Eisenbahnerinnen in Gold). A badge constructed of gilded bronze, depicting a double-winged wheel over a laurel leaf wreath, surmounted by a mobile swastika, reverse shows a horizontal pinback, measuring 30 mm (w) x 21 mm (h), and in extremely fine condition.
The German Female Railway Staff Service Badge was instituted by the Reich Minister of Transport in August 1944 and it was conferred upon the female staff of the German Railway, who filled positions normally staffed by men. The Badge was awarded to recognise long service and was issued in three grades, Bronze for 3 years of service, Silver for 6 years of service, and Gold for 10 years of service.
