The Order of Military Courage was instituted by Amir ‘Isa II bin Salman al-Khalifa in 1977. The Order is awarded as a single class in recognition of outstanding military gallantry.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Victory or Death" and "Military Courage."
