History


The Medal of Long Service and Good Example was established in 1959. The Medal is presented in 2 Classes to military personnel in recognition of 20 years of service with the Armed Forces. The I Class is awarded to Commissioned Officers while the II Class is awarded to other ranks.

The Medal features a reverse Arabic inscription which translates to "Long Service and Good Example" as well as the date of institution "1959-1378."

There are multiple versions of the Medal which vary by the obverse and reverse inscription and design. The different versions reflect the political changes of Egypt. There may be additional versions of the Medal not featured here.
