History

The Order of the Military Star of King Fouad I was initially established by King Fouad I on December 6, 1919, by Royal Order as the "Order of the Military Star of Sultan Fouad I. In 1922, the honour was re-designated as the "Order of the Military Star of King Fouad I." The Order was conferred by the King in I Class to Officers in recognition of a mention in despatches or for meritorious and distinguished services performed in the battlefield or in the face of an enemy.

A clasp was authorized for wear on the ribbon to denote additional awards of the Star.

The Star was also presented with a certificate.

There are multiple versions of the Star which vary by composition.
