History

The Culture and Arts (Farhang va Honar) Decoration was created to encourage and honour services in science, research, and art which contribute to the advancement of arts and culture in Iran. The Decoration was awarded in 3 Classes by the Iranian High Council of Culture to Iranian and foreign scientists, researchers, and artists, whose work is regarded by international standards to be of significant value to the advancement of art and culture.

The III Class Decoration was awarded to personnel who have provided assistance to institutions which promote Iranian arts and culture on an international scale. Other valuable services which promote the advancement of Iranian arts and culture was also eligible for the award of the III Class Decoration.
