The 1939-45 War Medal (Nut al-Harb 1939-1945) was instituted by Prince Regent Abdul Illah on behalf of King Faisal II in 1945. Then Bronze Medal was awarded Iraqi personnel in recognition of service provided towards the war efforts during the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.
The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "War" and the date "1939-1945."
