The Medal of 31 December 1961 is awarded to members of the Armed Forces in commemoration of a failed coup by pro-Syrian factions. The Medal may also be awarded for services of legal affairs. The award may also be known as the "Commemorative Medal for Military Operations" or the "Legacy Medal."
