A silver medal encompassed by an ornate border, the obverse center bears the emblem of the State Security Forces in red, blue, yellow and green enamel, bordered by laurel branches with a cedar tree at the top and an Arabic inscription at the bottom, the reverse bears the Arabic inscription STATE SECURITY in the center encompassed by a laurel border with a cedar tree at the top, on a blue, red, white and green ribbon.
The Medal of State Security was instituted on July 5, 1994, and is awarded to Lebanese State Security personnel for meritorious acts. It may also be awarded to civilians and military personnel on an exceptional basis.
