History


The Qaboos Police Medal (Midal al-Sharatat al-Sultan Qaboos) was instituted by Sultan Qaboos in 1975 to reward members of the Royal Oman Police and Prison and Fire Services for distinguished service. The Medal was known as the Oman Police Distinguished Service Medal until 1980.

The reverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Qaboos Police Medal."
