History

The Honour Medal of Syrian Merit was instituted by the French High Commissioner in Syria on April 10, 1926. The Medal was conferred in 4 Classes in recognition of courage or meritorious service. This award was replaced by the "Order of Civil Merit" in 1953 (see SYR104).

The II Class Decoration is composed of silver and features 2 silver palms and is issued as the second highest class of the Order.

There may be additional versions of the Decoration which vary by design not featured here.
