History

The Order of Zarrintoch was instituted on December 16, 1996. The Order is conferred in 3 Classes upon government and public sector workers in recognition of significant contributions to Tajikistan. Qualifying service includes implementing democratic and economic reforms, developing science and culture, acts of special merit performed in the defence of the nation, acts of individual selflessness and civil valour, and other services which have contributed to the strengthening of peace, stability, and integrity of the nation.

The III Class is awarded to senior officials and other Tajikistan citizens who have previously received 2 or more state Orders, medals of professional honourable titles.

Recipients of the III Class are also entitled to a 20 percent increase in monthly emoluments.
