History


The Abu Dhabi Defence Force Service Medal was instituted in 1966 by Abu Dhabi for service in the Abu Dhabi Defence Force. The Medal may also be known as the Commemorative Medal for the Inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Defence Force. The Medal was discontinued in 1976 following the incorporation of the Abu Dhabi Defence into the Federal Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "ADDF Inauguration 1966."
