The Fiji Police Long Service Medal was instituted by the President of Fiji, Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, by the Honours and Awards Act on March 8, 1995. The Fiji Honours System was established to promote national unity and to celebrate outstanding contributions made in service of the State.
The Medal is awarded to members of Fiji’s police force in recognition of 18 years of service. Clasps are awarded for additional 7 years, and 5 years thereafter, of service.
