History


The New Zealand 1990 Commemoration Medal was established by Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand by Royal Warrant on February 9, 1990. It was instituted on the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. It recognizes New Zealanaders who, through their virtues, talents, or loyalty, made achievements in community and public service that significantly contributed to life in New Zealand.

The Gold Medal is accompanied by a certificate.
