Vietnam Medal 1964-1973, Elizabeth II (42315 PTE R K PEARCE RNZIR); and Republic of Vietnam: South Vietnam Campaign Medal, 1 Clasp - 1960- (42315 R K PEARCE). Naming is officially impressed on the VM and engraved on the SVCM. Un-mounted, very light contact, original ribbon, better than very fine.

History


The Vietnam Medal was established by Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand by Royal Warrant on in 1968. It was developed jointly with Australia and created to recognise members of the New Zealand Armed Forces who served in the Vietnam War between May 29, 1964 and January 27, 1973. In 2001, eligibility was extended to include aircrew who flew over operational sites in Vietnam during this period.

The Silver Medal features the recipient’s name and date of the award engraved on the rim.
