This medal was established during the reign of Alexander I in commemoration of the storming of the Turkish city of Bazargik.

The gold cross was conferred upon higher-ranking officers.

The obverse inscription translates to: "For Distinguished Bravery". The reverse inscription translates to: "For the Storming of Bazargik 22 May 1810".
