Commemorative Medal for Defence of the Territory

The Commemorative Medal for Defence of the Territory was established by presidential decree in 1994. It is awarded to military personnel in recognition of honourable service of at least 180 days between 1991-1993.
There are believed to be two versions of the medal that differ in design and inscription. Both feature an obverse inscription that translates to "Defence of the Territory, Djibouti," but the second version features an additional reverse inscription.
