History


The Star for the Lima Campaign (Estrella por la Campaña de Lima) was authorized to recognize the Chilean and allied military personnel who participated in the landing of the Chilean army in Lima during the Peruvian Campaign in the Pacific War (1879-1883).

The Star was established with three grades denoting the recipient's rank. People who were ranked as Officers were able to receive Class I.

The star was usually awarded with clasps denoting the battles that the recipient fought during the campaign. These clasps were:

1. ANGAMOS
2. CHORRILLOS
3. MIRAFLORES
4. SAN FRANCISCO
5. TARAPACA
