In bronze gilt with red enamels, mounted to a bronze gilt base with twenty-nine emanating rays, measuring 64.5 mm (w) x 63.7 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine.
The Star of September 11 was instituted to recognize Chilean Armed Force personnel who participated in the 1973 coup against President Salvador Allende.
The Star was authorized with three grades which are enameled with the color of the corresponding branch. The enamel is red for military, it is deep-blue for the navy, and it is light-blue for air force.
